The economic stimulus bill signed on February 17, 2009 allows homeowners to receive a 30% tax credit (up to $1500!) on the purchase of new Windows and Doors for their primary residence…BUT these products must meet the new stringent criteria for Energy Savings. Not all manufacturers offer Windows and Doors that meet this new energy criteria for the maximum tax credit, but TARGET DOES!
To qualify for the 30% tax credit, windows and doors must possess a U-factor of .30 or less and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of .30 or less. Target is pleased to announce that the following Windows and Doors meet this criteria and qualify for the 30% Tax Credit:
WINDOWS THAT QUALIFY:
All windows - Elite, Reality and Ultra - qualify for American Reinvestment & Recovery Act of 2009 with standard Low E / Argon. Triple Glazed Power Pack or Magnum Pack exceeds the .30 U-Value and .30 SHGC tax credit criteria.
NOTE: “Special Shapes” (half rounds, octagons, etc.) and picture windows inserts are the only exception. “These DO NOT qualify” for the tax credit.
VINYL PATIO DOORS THAT QUALIFY:
The 4700 & 4800 Series Vinyl Sliding Patio Doors qualify for American Reinvestment & Recovery Act of 2009 with standard Low E / Argon. Optional Triple Glaze Power Pack Low E / Argon or Magnum Pack Low E / Krypton qualify for 30% tax credit (up to $1500).

ESL-33 with Clear or Decorative glass (Fiberglass or Steel)
All Steel Sidelite Panels with Decorative glass, except Fullview model RSL-89.
All Fiberglass Sidelite panels with Decorative glass.
The tax credit applies to years 2009 and 2010. Windows and doors must be purchased and placed into service during the year for which the credit is claimed. THE TAX CREDIT IS FOR THE PRODUCT COST ONLY, NOT INSTALLATION OR SALES TAX. The maximum tax credit for windows and doors combined is $1500.
